Skis & sledges
Skiing and cross-country skiing made the Jizerské Hory mountains famous – or at least contributed to their popularity. You may recall the famous Jizerská Fifty with a start in Bedřichov. The Jizerská Highway with its 200 km is one of the most popular cross-country skiing areas and offers over 20 starting points for cross-country skiers.
Jizerky Ski Arena
Here skiers will find their own. Skiing in the Jizerské Hory mountains includes the so-called Jizerky Ski Arena, which brings together the ski resorts of Tanvaldský Špičák, Severák, and Bedřichov with a unified check-in system. You can enjoy up to 17 km of ski slopes, twenty lifts and cable cars, and in good weather also beautiful views of the surroundings, either from the cable car or from the lookout tower.
Smržovka Sledding Track and Filip Ski Lift
Do you want to enjoy sledding? In the Jizerské Hory mountains you will have fun sledding in Smržovka. From Černá Studnice, there is a nearly four-kilometre-long toboggan run leading to Smržovka. If you don’t have your own sledge, you may rent one in the Filip Ski Resort in Smržovka or in the restaurant in Černá Studnica.
Jizerská Fifty
The popular Jizerská Fifty, a cross-country race with an abundant history, uses the cross-country trails of the Jizerská Highway. Take the whole route or choose one of the shorter sections, e.g. from Smědava to Bedřichov.
Harrachov Ski Resort
The Harrachov Ski Resort is divided into three separate ski areas: the Čertová Hora, Zákoutí, and Amálka. Čertova Hora offers a total of four slopes with a total length of 6.5 km. Practically the entire surface of the slopes is equipped with artificial snow. Transportation to the top of Čertova Hora is provided by two four-seat cableways and two lifts. The Zákoutí Ski Resort is more of a ski school than a full-fledged ski resort, but it still has a lot to offer. Lessons are mainly for children, but the whole family may sign up. You may ski on three slopes with a total length of 420 metres. Each slope is also equipped with its own lift and complete artificial snowmaking. The resort also offers night skiing. You may also enjoy night skiing on the 400-metre-long Amálka slope. Amálka also offers a ski school and technical snow.

Jakuszyce – cross-country skiing trails
Although this area is outside the Czech Republic, it has become a favourite for many Czech skiers. Jakuszyce is in the Polish part of the Jizerské Hory mountains, just over the border a few kilometres along the road behind Harrachov. Around the local biathlon area, there are a number of groomed race tracks, which are then followed by tracks more suitable for tourists, such as the track near the upper reaches of the Jizera River. The area is connected to the Czech part of the Jizerské Hory mountains by the border crossing between Jizerka and Orle.

Ještěd Ski Resort
The resort offers 10.5 km of slopes of all difficulty levels, 2 four-seat and 1 two-seat chairlifts, 5 ski lifts, a new professional ski school with an extended children’s learning zone, Sporten ski rental and ski service. The biggest novelty is the Nová Skalka ski slope, which is made for the best sporting experience. The downhill track with a length of over 1.5 km and a width of 45 m will offer enough space for beginners and families with children, as well as fans of sports carving. The gastronomy has also been modernised in the form of a new après-ski bar at the Nová Skalka ski slope access, the reconstructed self-service restaurant Můstek (by the Černý Vrch cableway) and several kiosks on the slopes. The 38-bed Hotel Můstek near the ski jumping area offers skiing “from the room right to the lift”.
The Ještěd Ski Resort, situated at an altitude of 540-1000 m above sea level, is the most accessible ski resort in the Czech Republic. Visitors may park their cars conveniently in the large-capacity central car park P1 or at Bucharka on P2 and at the ski jumps on P3 (the so-called TV road). For a more convenient and faster check-in, a new multifunctional building with ticket offices, an information centre, a rental shop, and a ski school is located next to the central car park P1.
